The process that preserves the wood.
A thermo-oxidative regeneration process designed to extend barrel life without shaving the wood and to restore precision to ageing.
Regenerate instead of removing material.
Traditional renovation methods may directly reduce the thickness of the wood. INFINI by TEDEM takes another route: working on the barrel without shaving the staves.
The aim is to preserve the cooper’s original work, limit the risks associated with thinning the barrel and extend the use of quality casks.
- Preserve the oak structure
- Reduce waste of a valuable resource
- Preserve the barrel and its identity
- Prepare a new ageing cycle with a defined profile

Four stages, carefully controlled.
Assessment
Identification of the cask type, known history, product aged and desired outcome.
Regeneration
Steam prepares the wood matrix, then thermo-oxidative activation acts on adsorbed compounds without shaving the wood.
Cleaning
Intensive rinsing removes soluble compounds generated before checks and finishing.
Checks
Visual and olfactory inspection before validation and selection of the chosen finish.
Finish
Mineral Range, oenological tannin finish or infrared toasting according to the ageing objective.
Support
Return-to-use guidance adapted to cellar practices.

A facility designed around process control.
TEDEM has developed a dedicated facility in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. Automation controls treatment sequences and supports consistent application of the protocol.
Each request is nevertheless assessed according to the container and its intended future use. A barrel for a delicate white wine is not treated with the same objective as a cask for spirits.
Recognised at the 2024 Vinitech-Sifel Innovation Trophy.
This distinction, in the Transformation category, recognises research into a new approach to barrel regeneration and wood preservation.
The process is also protected by a patent.
